I was pulling out of the dealers parking lot and see my employee talking to a 20 year old kid who just got out of a pearl white Cadillac Escalade. He's towing a trailer with an Exmark Lazer and a 36" Metro. Both machines are beat to crap! They can't be more than a year old and they look like they were dropped off a 30' cliff. I've seen this kid driving around and am SURE that it's mommy and daddy's Caddy.

The kid is complaining that his striping kit "just fell off" and was planning on demanding a refund, as the mower is under warranty. I look at the back side of the deck and examine the "sockets" that each end of the roller mounts to. Both are dry as a bone. I'm sure he hit something and it ripped the roller off, but I mentioned that he needed to invest in a grease gun and hit the fittings on both of those machines.

    His response...........

    "What's a grease gun?"

I thank that I would get the same reply from about half the people that come it the shop.
