Another FrankenStone creation.

Discussion in 'Lawn Mowing' started by lawrence stone, Dec 7, 2001.

  1. From the bowels of my fleet I have created another monster.

    It’s a 1991 – 48” recycler with a nearly new very low hour B&S 12hp IC.

The purpose for this machine is to be a large trimming mower on apartments, condos, or anywhere the discharge of clippings is a pedestrian safety issue.

    Mr. Stone,

Where do you find all of these machines at?

Uh...Shouldn't that be "FrankenX"? Or have you backed off of that?

    What have you created?

That's an out-of-the box Toro machine that is no longer in production:

    It cut poorly.
Dedicated mulcher allowed for no bagging/discharging.
The 3 blade design with the 10" center blade was a failure.

The machine is good only for consumer use.

So how many of these "old" walkbehinds do you own now? Why not upgrade to a ZTR? They are much more productive than a walkbehind.

I was wondering the same thing. What mods. were made on that "creation"?

I like the outboard anti-scalp deck wheels.
