another weed id challenge

    This is a very short grassy weed among the fine fescue and KBG.

    I second that, crabby grass is everyone's buddy :dancing:
    Its just getting started and young.

    Also, there is something in the center of that pic (with the crabgrass), looks like the bud of a flowering weed can anyone tell me what that is?

    Yes, it's crabgrass and those little green round broadleafs beside it are chickweed.

    Not crabgrass, the stems are very short not the long, thick, and strawlike of crabgrass

    That's smooth crabgrass.....It is just at an earlier stage, so it hasn't grown the longer stems yet. It will.

    Ditto with the crabgrass. Also with Varmit on the immature purslane. Somebody forgot to apply pre.
