The Ones w/ the Black Gas Tanks are Old LB Push units. They are early 90' models & still going Strong. I would stay away From the LB SP as the Plastic Wheels & cables are Like Butter.

It just so happens that I have a early 80's LB model 8401 with all the stuff inc. original users manual, new wheels for rear and it has been kept in premo shape for a unit that is just shy of twenty years old...This is not been used for commercial applications till the 2003 season. Before this it was owned by an elderly couple and did not see to much action...Once this unit was taken stewardship of it was completely gone through from the top to the bottom. It works well! If anyone would like to take stewardship duties over it will be 4 bills min...as they do not make anything like this unit anymore.
18lmslcsr. if you have some pics drop me a line. Even if you don't I'd be interested to hear from you.

I've got a Lawn-Boy 21" that is from the early 90's. Two cycle Silver somthing. I have the rear bagging attachment, both shields, maybe even the manual??? I have had it in the garage now for about two years just sitting. Still runs great. I retired it to the corner when I added several neighbors to my accounts.
If interested, let me know. I am in Raleigh, NC.
We used to have an 89 LawnBoy at work until the jack***es that I work withlost it on the freeway on the way to a property. My boss was pissed. I miss that mower
What did they look like?
Not like this I hope. These go for anywhere from $50-100 here depending on condition. Got this one for $50 and sold it for $70. Magnesium deck, good mower easy to push, good running and reliable. If you want one like this I can surely find you one for under $100 (not me, i don't have any right now so i'm not advertising! LOL)

I think that's a 60's/70's vintage eighties still have orange steel wheels and big orange gas tank like the new ones.
Oh ok. People love the ones like I pictured above, homeowners I mean. No plastic where there shouldn't be, reliable and lightweight, easy to push and cuts good. I just got a steel deck self propelled one with mulch plate, discharge plate and bagger in good condition they wanted $75 i got it for $45.
for that i would take one. starting a Lawn-Boy collection, really. Anyone wanting to get rid of them... please see me. Always interested. Thanks!
