For about the last 4 weeks, I've noticed a burning rubber smell for about 4 seconds every time I engage the blades on my Toro Proline. Do electric clutches give any warning signs when they are about to go bad???

that is one sign, but you may try to adjust it (if it's adjustable)

other signs....squeels bad when engaging and disengaging, slow to engage and disengage, melts pto switches and wiring, blows fuses

I have had only one electric clutch go on me and it just fried its self. Does your electric clutch run a belt and if so is it the rubber you are smelling? "bad belt"
