Anyone use the walker walk behind? I am in need of a 36 inch mower and it looks very enticing. Im loving the flip up deck feature. Anyone know what the price is? Anyone use these at all? Pics of mowing with them? Anything would help guys! Thanks.

I'm not sure about the price of the mower, but it looks pretty cool, it has an entirely different design than other walk behinds with the tilt up deck and 3 wheels in the back. Does anyone know if the mower is compatiable with the other walker decks and products?

I've wanted one, and even found one for sale close on craigslist, only to be to late!

I believe the walk behind will run the 36, 42, and 48 inch mulching and discharge decks. I *think* you can run the 52" discharge/mulch deck too, but it would be pretty underpowered...

I don't think walker sells a lot of the WB units, they don't seem to push them or have offered any other engine choices...

You can also get the sulkey in place of the tail wheel that extends out to ride on or slides in to just walk, pretty slick IMO. I believe that accelerator makes catchers for the SD walker decks too.

The walk is pretty slick, but they have stuffed a lot of parts/linkages into a small area. You almost need a lift to get under it . I do not know if they have any issues, but the way they tension the PTO blade drive by moving the whole gearbox forward/aft is suspect. One of the local shops dislikes the complexity of this unit so much they refuse to stock them and discourage prospective buyers.
That said I talked to a guy who had one and you have to disable the deck floating feature if you want to use a catcher on the side discharge unit because the bag tilts the deck.

I would buy one to mulch with if the price was right on a used one, but with so few units out there you seldom see this. Instead I am going to use a old Exmark tractor unit, buy a Chinese Honda knockoff 13 horse and adapt the 36" mulch deck to a floating design I have built for a 42" mulching mower. It would be belt drive, but also much lighter than Walkers version.
