Im looking for something to go inside our 24' enclosed trailers or bolted up underneath or even in front behind the jack stand area that will at least hold 4 or more gallons of 2 stroke mix/gas for trimmers etc. we generally just fill up the mowers at the gas station since they take 6-12gallons each to fill.

I have the capability to run 12v from the trailer battery to power a pump if it was mounted up under the frame of the trailer... if its fed by gravity, it'd have to be mounted up higher inside the front and then they can fill things inside or out the side door of the trailer.

post some pictures of your setups even if its on an open trailer, thanks

For around $100, you can get a trailer tongue toolbox made specially to hold a certain gas can size, so you can take them out as needed to fill equipment, and leave them in for fueling. Why make something more complicated than it needs to be for a few gallons....

I'd make one out of wood, fit it to size around your cans and add a lock for extra security and perhaps a weather seal. Drill a few holes in the bottom and you'd be all set. If you have the tools, you can get the wood for cheap and a few bucks in bolts and other hardware and you'll be laughing.

My trailer bounces a lot when it's not loaded, or loaded lightly so I keep all fuel in the vehicle, but that might change if I upgrade mowers.

I have an 8 gallon SNYDER Industries plastic tank mounted on the wall of my enclosed trailers. Northern tools has them. I fill it with mixed gas ( 1 qt 2 cy oil in 8 gallons = 32:1). The tank has a threaded hole in the bottom. I installed a ball valve and a piece of 1/2 inch fuel line.

I have 15-G tank from northern tool it comes with a hose and nozzle just like a gas station pump for about 100 bucks. We mount it on the tongue on a frame that gets it up to about 5' high gravity fed works great we use the space underneath to hold smaller gas cans and all oils, lubricants etc. get it all out of the trailer. One of my most genius trailer decisions.

D.O.T. is going to get rich when u get caught. They r relentless here...1 friend got $2100 in gas can tickets, the other $2800, in ny its 700 per can and one bad can violates all the cans.....they must be dot approved, all metal, straped down, and closed at all times. if violated u will be charged with not having hazmat endorsment and med. card, unless u have a cdl allready. Please check your states dot regs regarding fuel transport.
