This is a round disc that replaces the debris guard on the bottom of the trimmer. I've seen these used once before, but before ordering a couple, I wanted to ask a few questions.
    1) Will the disc prevent the line from extending beyond it's edge?
    2) Can my employees just run the disc around the base of a tree without damaging the tree?
    3) Will the trimmer cut a vertical edge, or just maintain one?
Any input or information would be usefull.

1- no you can advance the line past the disk, there is not cut off tool on the disk.

2- Im not sure exactly what you meant by this question

3-I think (mainly my opinion) It is for just maintaining an Edge. I have cut a new edge with mine 1 time but it was slow and didnt do a good job at it plus I used alot of trimmer line doing it.

I think its a great tool and I cant imagine not having one, well worth the 50-60 bux it cost
