These are 20 volt and my follow up post says that the bats were OK-the chargers took a dive. I jumped the gun dissing the Dewalt bats and I stand corrected.

I am a proponent of electric for the industry and hope that progress continues in this area. The more we embrace electric the better.

    Cool.
I just looked and they have some new offerings now too.
I'm thrilled to see an EXTENDABLE, articulating hedge trimmer - one of my most useful gas tools. Having a cordless unit would be awesome - I just have to see if the specs (length/reach mostly) are at least equal to my Stihl trimmer.

I'm going to check that out also-my extended Echo is a great tool but it with arms fully extended the engine is in your face. Electric = less stress on the operator.

first week using the milwakee 18v red wacker. HD special $250. loved it. battery only lasted about 1/3 of my days need. dont know if I can justify three batteries or even want to deal with that. but as a backup and semi use. definitely. homeowners all day long.

Battery life is still an issue but getting better as time goes on. As a quick tool grab and instant start they can't be beat.
