Is anyone here using Encore belt-drive, 36" or 48" walkbehinds. If so, what do you think of them? I know Encore ZTR's are not well thought of on this forum, but I have not heard much about their walkbehinds. A dealer in a nearby town seems to be selling a good many of them, and the price is pretty attractive. :)

I have a 48" hydro. I run doubles on it and it leaves a good strip. It is also easy to work on.

What went wrong? Did you buy it new?
  8. Yes it was bought brand new....what went wrong ..well tons of things.

    low blade tip speed
crummy cut i tryed everything on this mower ...raised the rpm's tryed a million different deck pitch adjustment s.

THe mower deck cracked they did replace the deck shell and it started getting hair line cracks .
It did make a good bushhogg and something to tie my dogs to.
If i could pinpoint the worse biz mistakes we made that encore would be on the top of the list.

Worst mower I ever bought was a 48" encore. Still own it.
Those mowers eat spindle bearings for lunch. Opc switches are real cheap on them. Anyway, do a search, you will find most people hate their encores. I would never buy another one.
