They won't hit. Although the blade is 3" wide it's still the same length from tip to tip and that is where you'd have a problem.

If you measure the overall length of a 2-1/2" blade and a 3" blade you'd find the 3" blade is a litte shorter.

Good to see all the comments about our G6(tm) blades. We always do as much testing as possible before we introduce something new but the real test is you using them on all the different types of grass and machines out there. We like to see the positive comments but we also appreciate hearing why it is not working in a paticular situation so we can improve. Let me know if you have any questions or comments. And as always thanks for using Oregon(r) products.

Whatever you do, don't change a thing on the G6. I like them just the way they are and they are THE ONLY blades I will ever buy again. If you must make a change call the new blade the G7 or something. Keep making this blade the way it is. I've looked for 18 years for the perfect blade, and I''ve tried them ALL. No others come close.

Thanks for the comments. We have no plans to change the G6(tm). It has proved as you stated to be the best version we have produced for the pro cutters like yourself. We are going to introduce on a limited basis this year a new blade called G5(tm) which has all the features of the G6(tm) but is made of a little lighter steel to help get the weight down a little for those machines that can't handle it. Still will have same lift and be 3" wide. Has to be 3" wide to allow us to get that extra high lift formed into the blade.

I'd lke to see an end on picture (in good light) of a G6 blade for a 60" 7 Iron deck if at all possible, to see how the lift fin looks. I that isn't possible, then maybe RM could post one of his?
