I got a call from a golf course about their pond leaking.....They have super sacks of bentonite and wanted to know if I could spray it in with my mulch blower. Any thoughts?? The pond will be drained. The sacks are dry which is very key to going through my maichne. I'm not familiar with this AT ALL!! Any help would be appreciated.

    Check these links.

Note that if mechanized application is used, only a drop spreader is appropriate, not a blower.

Also note that, if pond is drained, soil must be prepared before application and then disked to mix in Bentonite. Surface sprinkle method might work, but is not foolproof as you need to know where the leak(s) are.

Bentonite would probably clog your mulch blower.

    Hope this helps.

I'm familiar with bentonite because it's used as a seal in well drilling operations. I don't know if you can use it in a mulch blower but please be aware that is a clay mineral and therefore may have some abrasive qualities to it.
