Seems like all the ones I've seen were glorified pistol grips like the ECS (exmark) or ETS controls (Husky). Wish Scag would make a Pro-V gear drive, but thats wishful thinking. Are there any other intuitive controls other than the tbar? Something any idiot can drive?

glorified pistol grips are nicer than just plain pistol grips.

H-Bar Plus. But that's for their Trimstar hydro.

The Exmark ECS places the hands in a more natural positioning with the topside and inward position instead of the low and outward position. The hands are placed inboard of the handlebar supports to prevent injury, and to raise the front end to curb hop, just pull back on the ECS while going forward and the front end will lift up.

Bobcat offers a 48" hydro wb with the ztr style controls. You also have your line-up of stander mowers even though they are in a different class then the wb's are.
