Are these hi lift blades on the old yardman mtd 38"?

    Well well well.

    I went into the other mower shop. And they had super high lifts. Pretty much the same blades, but the flicker would have been more like 80degrees.

    Nearly dead vertical.

    is that a crack in the blade?

    yeah, I thought it was a crack or something too.

    It is a wear mark, funny place to be. Normally they don't wear like that.

    That's pretty much a standard lift blade, whether hi or lo or what but one thing they're not is mulching blades.
    And no, that's not a crack on the fin, more like a crease of some sort, probably has one on the other side, too.
    Either way they have very little wear on them, so I'd sharpen them up and run them.

    It' s actually an abrasive worn area by the looks.

    Anyway I sharpened them up nice and good. And after seeing the proper high lift blades I decided to bash the flickers up some more on these. Will see how they go.

    Just gotta see how my tappet / valve clearance adjustment went now.
