I was asked, by the homeowner, to move a trampoline in her backyard when cutting, to be sure to get all the grass cut. Do you guys move item?

I build it into my price. The yard will look like crap if I mow around the trampoline. And I don't want to mow under it.
Somebody's gotta move it, and I don't want to sit on my butt waiting for them to do it when I am ready for it to be moved.
Others may have better ideas, that's just what I do.

NOPE!!!!

WHY????

LIABILITY.

If you move it and a leg falls off and you put it back on but not right, or you didn't see it almost fall off and some one gets hurt..... they'll be all over you to sue you.
You'd better stay paid up on the ins.

People love to sue. but I would factor obstacles into my price.
Could I have the client sign a waiver, exempting me from that particular item(trampoline), or being sued?

That does nothing for the neighbor suing when their kid breaks something. We do not touch them under any circumstance. This is policy and there are no exceptions. Something breaks and someone gets hurt and you're the last one that touched it. Not going to be pretty. Even if you are found to have no fault who pays your legal fees. I work too hard to deal with that garbage. Oh and with my contract the property owner pays my legal fees:)

i have an easy way to move them. i just pull up to the trampoline and put my feet up on the cross bar then drive forward slowly. it moves it easily out of the way and doesn't mess anything up. now if it's an old rusty falling apart trampoline then i wouldn't try this but as long as it's in good decent shape this works.

i see you don't have a ztr mower though so you would have to slide it over by hand which isn't that hard either.

I have a zero turn, but I don't use it on this particular lawn.

having two young boys myself this is the one that gets me. I have a few clients who just love to leave all the toys in the yard. The 1st time, OK, it was a pretty day, everyone stayed out late and forgot to put the stuff up, but the 3nd and 3rd time I finally had a talk. When there are 5 water guns, balls, bats, you name it, it's going to cost more if I have to spend 10, 15 minutes just cleaning up 1st. Either that or mow them over.

so you guys just let the grass grow 3ft tall under the trampolines? that's rediculous. that's not cutting the entire yard like you are paid to do. why would you leave a circle of uncut grass? at least spray under the trampoline with roundup or something.

i don't get the liability thing either. i mean my god come on man. stop being a wimp and afraid of everything and man up and move the stupid trampoline. takes 30 seconds. you can't live in fear of what might or what could happen. someone is gonna sue you over moving a trampoline to finish the job you started? i think that's the lamest thing i've ever heard. if their kid gets hurt on the trampoline it's their own damn fault not yours.

Just Google trampoline liability (500,000 links) and you'll see why guys don't want to move them, and why many home owner's policies exclude them. Doesn't matter if you think it's the lamest thing in the world, in the event of injury, the odds of someone getting sued are high, especially with trampolines. They become a litigious nightmare with the insurance companies looking to put fault on another insured party. Even if you don't think you were liable, you'll go broke defending yourself.

how is it your fault if you just move the trampoline? it doesn't damage the trampoline in any way, shape, or form. the trampoline is in the same condition as it was before you touched it.

what next? you open a gate to get into the backyard and the next day something happens and the homeowner is injured while opening the gate. then it's your fault because you touched it the day before?
