I've been growing amaryllis plants for years, but here is a picture of one that I thought was great. It has four flowers currently open, a fifth is about to open, and an entire new 12" flower stalk has also come up from the same bulb. This picture makes me think of fireworks for some reason...

The camera? Just a rather cheap digital Fuji set on its macro mode. It does pretty well most of the time, though perhaps a bit too much contrast. I have another Intel camera thats just the opposite where most things are washed out. Hey, thats probably why whenever you get one of these cameras you also get photo editing software - to touch up their weaknesses.
