I've been a lurker here on the forums for the past year and have gotten great advice about what works and why. I don't make a living in the lawncare world but enjoy the topics discussed here. I maintain my own 2 acre lawn and also keep up 30+ miles of mountainbike trails.

My question is about my '06 m60 tank. I broke the blade drive belt for the 2nd time yesterday and my machine has only 60 hours on it. I realize many of you put that time on yours every week and that my machine is not even broken in yet. I have seen this come up many times but have yet to see a clear consensus on whether or not to engage the blades at full rpm or not. The manual says to do it and my dealer said to as well, but it seems counter-intuitive. Should i go through belts every 30 hours? I think they would last longer, but maybe not. Sorry for the long post for such a little problem. RT
