I have a Gravely 152, belts appear to be loose, like they are slapping back and forth. Belts are 6 months old. Do they stretch or just break when they wear out.

I don't think that belt stretch is a problem. The belt tensioners keep the belts tight regardless of a little stretch. My belts get to looking pretty bad but I always run them until they break. Keep some spares in the truck for when they do break.

I have to physically adjust the tension on my Scaags, so yes, they do need some adjustment to compensate for stretching.

O.K. so maybe the spring on the tensioners are getting weak, have you ever had or heard of that being a problem?

Is it the original belt? Is it a kevlar reinforced belt? No matter, they stretch too if you get into knee high thick grass.
