First let me say thanks to all the lawn site members who have been so helpful this year. Without your advise I coudn't have made it!

Anyway, I got a crafstman 6" bench grinder for christmas. I plan on using it to sharpen my blades, shovels, tools, etc. My question though is, will it work if I'm trying to sharpen say mulching blades or gator blades were it's not a strait edge. It never really occured to me, but on my gators and mulching blades there is a curve or two, and I wasn't sure if it would work.

    Any sugestions are great.
    Happy new year!!

I have a benchgrinder as well. On mulching blades, I just follow the curve as best I can. Seems to do the trick. The curved part of mulching blades doesn't seem to dull as quickly as the outside edge of the blade, so it isn't that big an issue.

thanks mark. I guess I never thought that, but your probably right saying that the angled part doesn't really need it as bad. anyone els?
