Depends on what you can get away with with your mower really. Recommendation is 1/2" to 1 and 1/2", and to raise the height by 1/2 inch in the hot summer months. I mow at 1 and 1/2 inch all the time with my Walker and it cuts fine. To get down to 1/2 inch you probably need a reel mower.

I normally cut at 2" with my Walker, however with the drought I raised it to 2.5". I agree with Envy, lower is better, but it really depends on your account, if its watered, fertilized etc. Is it 419 or just common, common looks better higher. Hope this helps

Well right now we are knee deep in grass because of all the rain . I was able to mow in back yesterday afternoon but I set the deck on 4-1/4" for Bermuda. This is not the usual 2-1/2" to 3" I normally set the deck.

I can't cut out in front until we get at least a couple dry days (had another 1.75 today). Wettest July I have ever seen here in Oklahoma.

But 2-1/2" looks good and 3" looks even better.

Yea I guess it depends on what type is the topic of discussion. I cut Common to 2" and maybe up to 3" in drought stress, but I never go over 2" on hybrid even in the heat. Only thing I hate about bermuda is it really needs to be mowed every 5 days for best results (non-drought of course)

i like to cut common at 3" it gives it that thicks dense look. like carpet. if it is too short it hurts the feet. but it depends if it is commercial or residential props your are talkin about.
