Im thinking about installing TifGrand bermuda sod in my lawn that was seeded with bermuda last year. The seeded lawn is thin in some shadow areas of my house and i want to install the TifGrand in those areas.

my question is do i have to till up the areas and then lay the sod................. or can I just mow the current dormant grass real low and then lay the new sod on top of it.....?

Do those areas still get a little bit of sun throughout the day? From my understanding, Tifgrand still requires some sun.

the areas closest to the house get about 5-6 hours of sunlight a day - either morning sun or afternoon depending on the time of the day -- the shadowing from the house moves with the sun. but each area get around 5-6 hours...
