Best Cordless Grass Shear?

I was looking to buy the following to replace may old Black and Decker 7.2V grass shears.

Ryobi Cordless Grass Shears GS12V

These seem to have disappeared from the market. What are my options at this point? Line trimming doesn't provide the finish that I'm looking for.

Thanks,

Tommy

I have seen what your talking about... If line trimming doesnt provide the finish your looking for perhaps your doing it wrong ? im not trying to blast you or anything .... i see all to many people scalping with trimmers when it should float not ride on the ground.

You're right on me probably not knowing how to handle the line trimmer correctly as I'm pretty new to this. I have an problem with the edges growing higher than the rest of the lawn, so I'm still trying to figure how to keep it the same height without scalping the edges along the planters and walkway.

when i trim with a line trimmer, i usually angle the line a bit when i am doing edges. tilt it just so it doesn't scalp, but actually cuts it a bit lower than the lawn.

Yeah, that what I'll have to practice doing. Maybe I can practice on my neighbor's lawn......:hammerhead:

hey tommie... what are you edging against? Sometimes if people got that gay brick edging or no edging at all we invert our line trimmers... cut a quarter inch groove in front of that brick stuff or a verticle edge if you just have turf to bed areas.

gay brick edging????? :)

I'm edging up against curved brick planters, moss rock walls, curved concrete walkways, flush concrete utility boxes, trees, etc...

I should have bought a townhouse with no lawn responsibilities... :)

I least I have a beautiful looking electrical transformer in my front yard; I think I paid extra for that... :D
