Does anyone know the best place to order bulk lighting spools, bulbs, ect. online. Thanks!
Google it and shop around. Right now I place orders from three different places. You can also search the thread and get some ideas.
stay away from action lighting, about 1 in a hundred sockets are bad.
Thanks guys.. Anymore input would be great!
I bought a 1000' spool from Novelty lighting (my first spool) and I put up about 500 sockets so far and they've all been good.
I think I'll try out David's light bulb guys though, Bright Idea's. There you can get boxes of 500 lights (and cheaper) where as at Novelty Lights, to get a good deal, you need to buy a 1000.
But Novelty lights was also good for the adapters male/female plugs and I really liked there bulk cord. I've made many extensions now and love being able to put a plug anywhere.
David, do you buy the double dipped bulbs?
I bought a 1000 of red, a 1000 of blue, a 1000 of green and a 1000 of clear and everyone wants clear except one lady who wants all blue .
Yea, most of my clients want clear or white. I'm just trying to find the cheapest spools and bulbs. Just got a 4000 ft. job. Please help. A few dollars a box/spool could go a long way! Thanks, Mike
Look into village lighting from Longhorn supply. They seem to have a quality product from what i've looked into.
The cheapest c-9's out there shipped that are top notch is Rob Martin, Bright Ideas in Chicago. Chrome base 130 volt bulbs. he also has colored and what. but he takes a week or so to ship so don't get in a hurry. and he rarely will help you track down shipments if you are eeding it super quick. so order enough to get you through the season.
I use double dipped transparent from him. the triple dips are just too dim for me, and the ceramic flakes off with 2 or 3 years of install/takedown. The new ceramic LED c-9 retrofit is the solution to that issue, but they are 1.50 a bulb or so shipped, so pricey.
His cord is the super heavy duty 12 guage c-9 cord, but also pricey at 1 buck a foot or more. but you can run 250 foot out and have no problems unless your outlet can't do 15 amps.
30 crazy days left in season.
