Does anyone know what the best time of the day to cut? I was just wondering what the different effects on lawn where based on the time of day you cut it. Does it put stress on the grass to cut it during the heat of the day? Also, what time in the morning are you able to get started in Residential areas without getting complaints?

If you have plenty of work, 8am until dark. No other choice.

From what perspective do you pose the question?

See 65hoss's response above for a professional's perspective. From a homeowner's perspective: Jerry Baker (the lawn nut) use to advise mowing in the late afternoon. This is suppose to put the least stress on your lawn. I don't know of any data that supports this claim and I have asked the question many times in my hort. classes.

7 A.M. for some of our commercial customers. Get in and out before they open.
    Residentials usually around 8 A.M.
Some areas here have noise ordinances that will get you a ticket if you start too early.
