Just to give you guys some background, my business is mostly residential and small commercial. Ive picked up some plowing accounts that have large mowing areas (multiple acreage) that I will be able to bid next season. Currently I bid everything by the hour and not buy the acre. Ive been reading on here looking for advice on the best way to bid?

I just don't want to loose money for being faster on larger accounts. Any advice would be great.

    Thanks
    J

I think it is better to bid by the job, not the hour. People look at an hourly wage and think "Holy $h!t I only make 1/4 of that!" But when priced by the job they see the "value" of it.

1.) "Oh $60 an hour...(they dont hear anything past this), I can do it myself in one day for that."
2.) "$180 for 5 acres, yeah that will work, gives me time to go the lake on friday evening"

    *disclaimer I'm a newbi. But that's my opinion ^^^^^
