I got a referral call today from one of my regular mowing clients. They burned out their lawn with fertilizer. It is completely dead. I have never re-installed a new lawn before and would appreciate ant tips on techniques and bidding. The lawn is approx. 12000 sf. and is on level ground.

I am thinking about renting a sod machine. Conditioning the soil with a top soil/compost mix. Re-seeding and using straw for cover. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

do a soil test first. if the nutrient levels are too high you won't be able to get anything to grow there. this will lead you into a plan of attack.
