Im looking for a nice, stout and heavy duty blade blocker OCDC unit to put on my 48in. tthp this year. I went to my dealer and looked at theirs and it looks like it wouldnt last long because of its cable design and plastic clips and what not. Im also affraid to even ask what it'll cost me. What brand-company do you guys recomend that is built to last and will be able to get more then a years use out of.

Build your own. I built one for all my WBS, including my 52" tthp. I used flat plate and a universal joint and made a handle close to the controls that is easy to use and super heavy duty. I can upload a pic if you want to see how its made. Its very simple.

What I did for the actual mechanism was to use a regular 1/2" socket universal joint along with a 1/2" socket that was a size I didnt use much, and weld it all together, This set up works great. and I used a regular piece of 1" dia. black pipe for the long rod piece, got it at Lowes for like $5. The part by the controls where the handle mounts was the most difficult, but you can really put the handle anywhere you want it as long as the universal joint will still turn and the angle isnt too extreme. I dont really know yet. I have not mowed yet this season been too wet in Louisville,Ky But it is seems to be built good. Time will tell
