I am 20 years old and getting ready for my 4th year of business (2019). I am tired of paying the shop $40/week for sharpening blades. I have been doing some research but can not seem to figure out the best blade sharpening set up. I know this is highly opinionated, but what do I NEEED, and what do you recommend?
    Thanks!

Angle grinder, flap disk for said grinder, and a vice.

I suggest eye and ear protection but hey it's your eyes and ears.

$40 per week could buy you a new set each week!!

I used a grinder and flap disk for many yrs quite well. Now have a Bradley blade sharpener and quite happy.

Yep angle grinder, bench grinder, Bradley blade sharpener.
It's not difficult, does not have to be exactly 30º but try to keep it even.
Also a $5 cone balancer. It's not perfect but will keep your blades fairly well balanced.

Another vote for just use an angle grinder. I prefer a grinding disc instead of a flap disk but whatever works for you. As a final touch, use a file to remove the burr.

I just use a bench grinder for years and it works fine.

If you pull blades every 10 lawns a fresh file is arguably as fast as a lot of grinders and extend the service life in spades.

I used to use a grinding stone in a dremel as I learned, now it’s an angle grinder

I use an angle grinder. Takes me a bought 1 minute per blade. I have never balanced a blade . Never had a problem

Bench grinder takes 1 pass 10 seconds with good blades an older blade takes 30 seconds
