Hello,
The tip is of course the most important part of the blade, since it does the majority of the cutting.
If the tip has become rounded from wear, it needs to be returned to a 90 degree angle tip. On some blades that are very worn this can take a bit of grinding.
As you are sharpening move the blade back and fourth against the grinding wheel. You simply do the same at the tip making shorter passes (if you are concentrating on a very worn tip). Be sure to have a good even sound and even stream of sparks while grindings. You should not hear any chattering noises, this indicates that you are not holding the blade flat against the work table or simply not holding the blade solidly.
If you are using HIGH LIFT BLADES and the blade is a bit used you may want to consider using the optional extended work table, to assist you in sharpening those blades.
