    I have a new Ferris F160z 52" ztr.
It currently has 60 hours on it with the first set of blades, which I have not sharpened. I have cut approximately
2 million square feet of lawn.
This first set of blades looks a good as the spare set that I bought with the mower.
    Is this normal???

Either that is impossible, or you were sold a horrible condition set of blades.

At 60 hrs they are in huge need of sharpening.

Just did some math. That's only 48 acres. Still need to be sharpened but not as bad as first thought.

On another point, you are not very efficient if your only averaging .75 acres per hr with that mower.

What kind of blades are they and what are you cutting?

I don't know, they came installed on the mower.
The spare set is also unknown.

The set of blades that came installed on the mower were as sharp as possible, and they do a very good job, even after all of the square feet.
There is no visible difference between the set that is on the mower, and the unused set.

I work alone, and near retirement, I am happy being slow.

I cant mow that long on a set of blades without sharpening. I service an average of 13 to 15 properties per day and change my blades every morning before I leave.

You may not notice it but dull blades make the mower work harder, and leave a ragged edge on the grass blades if they are dull.

I agree with the dull blade comment.
However, even after all of the mowing done with the first set of blades, I can not see any difference between the blades in use, and the unused spare set.

I cut my lawns at a higher setting. 4.5 inch or higher. That being said I sharpen my ferris 3200z blades every week with 95 lawns cut per week. They still look decent by weeks end. I think it's because I am cutting higher and Not getting into the dirt/ sand as much

That mower has an automatic sharpening system on deck.
Did your dealership show you how to adjust the rotary stones ?
