I order it on every machine that has it as a factory option. You can easily add one. Kits are usually less than $100 and take an hour or less to install in most cases.

 

Do they still make those stick on heaters? Are they any good? I have no answers, just ideas.

I think it depends on what state you're in whether it's standard. I know that for cars it's that way.

 

You want the one that goes into one of the frost plugs the inline ones don't work well. Dad has been trying them they don't last long. He actually builds his own makes them out of the heating elements out of a electric hotwater tank.

 

I cant remember if it is standard on CASE skid steers or not but I get one way or another. My TK has one, in fact everything has one. You live up here and you better have a block heater. Makes life much easier on the machine.

I use synthetic in my excavator, helps with the heat as well which in that application is why I use it.

 

I looked for a place to put one but can't see anything on this side of the engine (bobcat). If it goes on the other side it may be easier to just use a propane heater

 

Just get a pan heater. They work very well. Just stick on the bottom of the pan and it keeps the oil warm.

Every diesel we have here has a heater.......in cold country it is a must have from equipment, dump truck to pick up. I also use a cetane boost in the fuel during winter to help with gel/water/cold start issues.

Thats the thing I looked and don't see one on this side of the engine so I would have to pull it just to put a heater in it. I may just go with one of those pan heaters if I need it.
