Hi -

I'm renting a Bobcat to load a pile of brush about 10 FT Wide and 40 FT long into a dumpster. The pile consists of huge vines, stickers, branches, etc... Last time I used a bucket to do this and it was pain. I had difficulty getting large loads into the bucket. Would forks be better? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I specialize in stuff like this. if you could rent an ex or mini ex with a thumb you would get more in the container. If the pile isn't near the container, use a grapple as KSSS said but if it's a big container 30 yd or 40 yd, get the biggest skid you can or you won't be able to push the material down.

IF you are limited on container space, rent a brush mower (rotary) and mow the pile down some then load the shreds with a grapple. You will get about 2x as much into the container doing that.

that's a light duty grapple. I would opt for a heavy duty. I use a light duty on my toolcat but not my skid. Also, having independently closing grapples makes a difference in picking up mismatched brush.
