Boulder edging around a tree

Has anyone ever done one and how you go about charging for that?

What is the up charge and how does one go about getting the right amount needed?

The boulders would be about 8”-14” or so. I have done one before but the boulders were already on site and a bit smaller so I did not have to charge for them.

Usually sold by the ton or on a pallet. Time and materials, plus pickup and delivery.

as far as how many, I guess you measure your layout in 8 or 14 inch increments and give yourself 10% more.

Awesome, appreciate the help. The client wanted a quote for using retaining wall stones but my wife came up with the idea for boulders. To many root systems and the are is not leveled.

Go to Home Depot and get one of the brocheres from over by the pave stone section, in it, I think they have a page on how to calculate border atone.

At our SiteOne we buy the smallest pallet of 2 man boulders for this. Usually .10 a pound.
At a separate supplier we use “thick/long” fieldstone. The think long is easier to keep level.
