I've been a die hard stihl fan for 7 years and i go in to buy a br600, 7 hours later it won't start? I'm pretty sure i dropped a valve cuz when I pulled the string something was moving around in there.:mad::mad:Now it wont move at all.

It's still under warranty so ill have my dealer look at it. Am I alone on this?

The br600 is garbage, I love everything else stihl makes but HATE the backpacks.

That's why I pronounce it "still" instead of "steel" :) Seems like what they do best is sit still.

For all of you that use the BR 600, Why does this unit sound like it runs erratic.?
The unit sounds as if it has no power and makes a lot of noise.
I still run Stihl units but not blowers. I approve of the Echo 755 series.

I love the stihl or "still" backpack cuz its comfy but I hate those echoes. They are soooo uncomfortable but they do have a lot of power!

My nearest dears are redmax or shindys? Maybe a redmax 8500 next?

pretty sure you are on your own there for a dead br600 in 7 hours. I just bought one last week, mainly due to the lighter weight and the fact that they are quieter. It probably has close to 7hrs on it so far and it seems to run ok, certainly not slowing down productivity that's for sure. I will probably buy another one, just because they are more comfortable to wear too. Sounds like you have a lemon.

My first one's an original from when they first came out (non-Magnum) and it's around 6 years old.
The usual air filter, spark plug, a coil, a carburetor, fuel lines once or twice, air filter, fuel filter, spark plug, the straps, cracked fuel tank.

You sure you didn't run straight fuel in it?
