It has been all over social media. Some say KK&R may have already had this planned before purchasing Brickman last Nov. Looking like a $1billion buyout. Which is lower than I expected. It is true that they are talking, no confirmation yet on sale or date but experts say it could happen as early as the 2nd week in may. Posted via Mobile Device
This will create a huge disturbance in areas where they both have a big foot print. A large amount of management staff could be jumping into the unemployment ring soon.
There are several regional companies in my area ($5-20 million companies)that are anxiously awaiting the news. As am I. Posted via Mobile Device
I've heard some of their branches are complete crap. The valley crest branch near me actually does very good work. They actually take care of the office building where my dad works and that place always looks the best
Branch managers and account/area managers will be cut. No need to pay 2 guys a BM salary when only 1 is needed.
I worked in management for Ruppert for a very very very short (and way too long) period of time...its a $ game for these guys. If you look at purchase price vs sales price you can see what these investment companies do, they go lean and mean. Maximize profits and cut all losses. Posted via Mobile Device

Yea, I've heard some of that as well. I have hardly ever heard anything bad about working for Brickman. I actually know a few guys that work for Brickman and they love working there. Its funny because two of those guys actually went to Brickman from ValleyCrest.
They will eliminate redundancies wherever they find them. No matter what level employee or process as was said before it's a numbers game. Posted via Mobile Device
They will retain/laterally move people as much as they can but if there is no where for them, I assure you they will be let go. Posted via Mobile Device
In Pa valley crest does great work.. but i heard they dont pay there subs.. In pa where i live brickman does terrible work.. and also isnt good at paying there subs and both companys undercut almost every contract they get just to keep there guys moving. Not a fan of brickman but at one time i applied to work at valleyvrest and they are awesome people. Should be interesting to see what happens!

Should be interesting!!! Their already two huge companies as it is, now they would be one monster company. Great, just what we all need.
Real question is the name, what would it be now?
Trucks, one is red and one is brown, those don't go to we'll together, I wouldn't want to paint them all!
Locations and shops. For example there is probably a Brinkman and a Valley Crest in the same city. So now would they have 2 shops in the same city? Or would they move to one big one?
Should be interesting to see if they do better this way instead of competing and under bidding each other. Either one wins or one looses, now they would just have to deal with Davey...
Also, Brickman has 2 locations within 15 miles of each other and valleycrest just moved to a shop formerly leased by a local bankrupt artist landscape company. They will need all 3 locations to serve our area. Keep in mind our area was the fastest growing in the country for several years...Atlanta is a massive area for both companies as well. Im sure the shops aren't the problem, as most are leased (easy pay out) it will be the equip...(Scag for VC and eXmark for Brickman) and the trucks. Brickman has their own lot at the Ford plant as well as a lot at the wells cargo plant...I would imagine they are going brown and tan and not red. Posted via Mobile Device
Huh? Brickmans floriculture design division and one of their regional offices is in Atlanta, as well as 3 locations and if memory serves me correctly ValleyCrest has 2. All of the big companies inevitably opened locations there before the major expansion for the Olympics in the early 90's. Posted via Mobile Device
ctnc,
Im 62 miles east of Atlanta going down I20 and have never seen them around here. either of them. The only time I saw them is when I drove to ATL. to see the LCO arbornomics and I saw one of their trucks then but other then that never

Weird...they def serve ATL and surrounding towns/cities. 62 miles is well within a branches travel distance. Be glad they aren't around you...they take prices down low low low.
ATL is also a big branch for Ruppert. Posted via Mobile Device
