What is a good brand broadcast spreader?

Are the green scotts spreaders I see at home depot any good or are they junk?

If you would use it often I would buy an Earthway, but I have seen some descent ones at Tractor Supply Co.

Lesco makes a good one. All metal parts are stainless steel. Their latest broadcast model also has a drop feature for around edges. Be prepared to spend some money!

Unfortunatly I went to buy a new spreader when mine took a big crap. I was in a bind and wanted th large earthway. Well low and behold the place that sold earthway (only one for 150 miles) sold all their spreaders to the largest company in the area. I was in a bind and bought a scotts speedy green 3000. That was 3 years ago. It still works fine, however the earthway is much more smoother.
