Welcome all, including the trolls to come...

I'm building a unique spreader/sprayer "unit," to fit my start up needs. I'm just fabbing everything up now so I wanted to include y'all along the way! I've got industrial mechanical maintenance/welding experience so I'm wrench friendly. Please feel free to ask any questions along the way as I'd like to help anyone wanting to accomplish the same.

Next step is to fab up the motor mount and then I'll be cooking with grease.

P.S. pics make it seem out of square but I can assure you it's level all the way around.

Have you figured out how to drive the spreader ? I'm thinking motor off a tail gate salt spreader if you can find a doner.....A rheostat to control rpm and spread......
.
Looks Great.

Thanks! Yessir, I purchased a PWM DC Motor Speed controller for 12 bucks off Amazon. It's cheap and flimsy so I'll figure something else for that to have on hand when it eventually fails. I purchased a Buyers Salt Dogg replacement motor for about $70 bucks off Amazon as well. I will be designing a guard for the back to redirect all granular product out the front. The Brinley spreader came off FB marketplace for $100 bucks. Used once. It has a slide under the gate to direct flow to bythe left or right but it's not accessible from the seat so I need to figure out how to adapt it or just create an edge guard. I do have to get a cover and make a grate for the hopper. As far as a speedometer or odometer I don't think I need that. Just my personal (extensive,) experience running spreader/sprayers, once calibrated I know how much should be applied and notice over/ under per application. With chemical cost skyrocketing it's definitely something to consider in the future but for now my experience is adequate. This was built on a donor carrier frame and will be used as is. I intend on gutting the old Walker for EFI parts and slapping a non EFI motor in it. Lots of intentions... Lol lots of adjustments to come. Thanks to all y'all for your interest and comments! Stay tuned!

Rough 8mm to 10mm flex shaft coupler from Amazon came today and fits perfectly. Another $8 bucks but it was a 2 pack. I've just got to get the motor mounted now which will be a pain fabbing a mount in that tight spot!!! I'm gonna get started it on it tomorrow afternoon and update y'all after I get it welded up.
