What business name would you choose?

  1. The Sodfather

  2. Four Seasons Landscaping/Landscapes/etc

  3. Other

So, when I started in business I had to just get a name so people could make their checks out to an actual "business". I think the name was pretty "normal/routine/blah blah" for the landscape arena.

We do mowing, fert, landscaping, lighting, snow removal, etc.

So, I think I want to change my name. What do you guys think?

Options would be "The Sodfather" with the theme-based extras..."Four Seasons Landscaping" or other...

I voted for the 4 seasons name. Just be sure that it is something that you want to keep for a long time as you don't want to change it very much. Hope this helps.

I'm sure 4 seasons had been taken by other companies (in fact, I know it has). If you were to pick one of the two, I would go with Sodfather. Otherwise, I would really recommend doing a little more brainstorming.

    Good Luck :weightlifter:

I'd stick with your current name, you have name recognition.

Yes...but the actual name is "Cutting Edge-Premium Lawn & Lightscape"...that is a bit overkill.

I like "The Sodfather" the most. My position is that when we drive by a restaurant, Mrs. So&So will talk to her girlfriend about the name for the next 10 minutes of their conversation. Memorable. No more..."uh...what was the name of that crew mowing my neighbor's house"...

I do work for management companies and told one of them that I planned to change the name. She loved the idea. Some of her other favorites were: For Landscaping "Dirty Hoes Landscaping" & for Snow Removal - "Gettin' Plowed".

It may be less uppity (sp?) but a more easy going, "we're here to do the job since we are confident enough to do an unusual name so we better deliver" kind of name.

Do you want our name to project a business image or be "cutsey"? I'd stick with Cutting Edge and just modify the Premium Lawn and Lightscape (too wordsy - and a bit confusing. Do you cut grass and do lighting?)
