The reason I am posting this is because I am in the process of starting my own business. I did not choose to use my name because I see and feel like everybody does that in my area. I went with the idea of Above-Average because I always I want to keep my work above the average fly by "lawn care guy." My only concern with this name, which has been brought to my attention by a couple of friends, is that the word average could be what would stick in people's minds. I'm trying to get some input please before going into the process of filing with the state, creating a logo, and other things.

I’m not a fan of Above Average lawn care. Just sounds generic.

A name that keeps popping in my head lately has been Trimmer Time Lawn Care.

Just do a brainstorm session. Picture what you want your biz to look like. Then write down how you’d describe it to a blind person. Put some of those words you used to describe your biz together to form a name that sounds good.

If your going to be the best be better to call it above the rest or something unless you are thinking you will just be a little better than the average lawncare just thinking

Luke, the force is with you!

I agree with doing brain storming.
Unless you have a deadline, take a little time on it.
Don't be like the parents who named their kid Paul Enis.
P.Enis on all his paperwork for life.Good god !
That is a real name btw.
Also depends on what type of customers your going after.
    Residential, Commercial, Industrial.
    Something dependable, trustworthy,
    Or something more official.
    "Lawncare specialist"
    "Pro-Care landscapes" P.C.L.
    "Environmental Lawns"
    "Green Envy Lawncare" G.E.L.
    Brainstorm away.
Do not put the word average in your name.
C+ is above average. Not a huge selling point.

Thanks for the replies! I appreciate your feedback as it is showing me that my speculations on the name were correct. Since I am choosing this as a career so I am wanting to make sure I do it right the first time so I won't have the hassle down the road of changing my name with the state. I will be doing some brainstorming for sure.

Above average says “not good enough” or “run of the mill”
Why not just say “quality lawn care” or something similar
