I am currently mowing 5 lawns, all of them are less than one acre. I am mowing them with a garden tractor and the deck is beginning to rust through on the welds. I will have to purchase a new mower before next season at the latest. I plan on expanding my business and was planning on buying a used commercial walk behind. There is a Scag dealer very close to where I live so I'm thinking about getting one from there. I can't spend any more than $1800 on a mower. Any suggestions?

I dont think your scag dealer will have any quality mowers for 1800 dollars. Look for a good used commercial mower in your local classifieds.

Try craigslist or ebay. You should find something that fits into your budget. Just make sure to check it out thoroughly before you buy.

It won't hurt to ride over to your Scag dealer and see if he has any trade-ins. I bought my first commercial mower, a 36" walk behind, used from a local rental store for $1500.

You can probably get a pretty nice used belt drive and sulky for under 2k on ebay. Be patient. Hydrostatic drive will be around 2800 to 3500 depending on machine hours. Good luck!

I have a real nice 48" Scag Hydro-Drive with under 1000 hours on it for sale in Cincinnati. I have an aftermarket sulky and several sets of blades with it. It's a manual start with a Kohler 14hp engine and a Groundskeeper bag for all that wonderful litter.

Anyways, I'm needing $2000 out of it, but it's a good price on a great mower. Here is a pic for ya to see it. Long grass in background = Not My Job."

Is it just my PC or did they stop the linking capabilities on LS?
