    Hi Ya'll

    Just found this place..Great Site!!

Been Mowing rental properties for several years. Using your standard tractors/Mowers, usually a 42 in cut because of quantity & proximity of trees. Been wanting to upgrade to a Zero-Turn and have decided on Hustler. Have been shopping for that 'Off-Season Deal' for months and I found it today on a 36 mini F.T with the 15 hp Kohler (around $1000 off). My question is...Am I Screwing myself with the small deck size? I really couldn't use anything much larger than a 42' if I wanted to, but is there that much 'Cutting Time' difference between the 36' and the next larger size? considering the Great deal I am getting on this 36. Or should I spend the $1500 more and get the 44?
Does that 36 really "Eat Grass" that much faster than a conventional 'Garden tractor 42''?

    Sorry..New to Zero-Turns so Help!

The 36" FasTrak will out mow a 42" tractor type mower, with all the trimming and such you will find yourself to have extra time on your hands in relation to what it usually takes to mow your properties.

Deals everywhere all of a sudden. Off to OKC this morning to pick up my 42' with 18 Kohler for $3150....the 36 was $2750 with a 15 Kohler so this is a "no-brainer"

i use to use a 42" tractor type mower for 5 yards and it took me a week to do them.i was like you could not use much bigger but i went to a 48'' deck JD and man i can cut the same yards in day and a half.my biggest took me 5.5 hrs with old one and now its only 2h15 min.

    Runs Like a Top!

Mulching up Leaves like a fool...GREAT MACHINE..fixing to hit the 5hr mark..then oil/filter change. When I hit 50hr will move over to Amsoil for Duration.

Did notice in Kohler Engine Manual that is states "Use of synthetic oil having a 5W-20 or 5W-30 rating is acceptable up to 40 degress F." ????

Not sure I follow what they are saying..Is that a misprint? or do they not recommend multi-vis synthetic in Temps above 40F? Thought they (oil's) would excel at High temps..

As far as the oil goes, I don't have a Kohler manual to look at it, I will see what I can find out.

the 42 was the way to go. I had a Hustler 42" mini, loved it but got a 60" Supe Z and a 52" Z so it became obsolete to me.
