i just bought a c6500 flatbed for my sod company.....is it possible to hook my gooseneck trailer to it if i install a gooseneck hitch to the flatbed....or can i just hook the gooseneck to the hitch that is installed on the bumper of the truck.... the flat bed is about 50" from the ground to the top of the flatbed.... i really dont want to get rid of my 20K gooseneck trailer......any suggestions

I pull mine all the time, I used to pull it w/ a f550 and this is my c7500. all i had to do was cut the pipe that you'd normally use to adjust the trailer to the truck to shorten it a bit. works great btw the way, much better way to pull a big gooseneck.

    Brandon:

How deep is the gooseneck ball recessed? How short did you cut the pipe?

It is easy enough to get a gooseneck hitch into a flatdeck.

What's the towing limit on it?

    Is it non-cdl?

A 6500 GMC should be good upto a 24-30,000lb trailer depending on the braking system on the trailer.

bottom of ball is ~8" down, don't remember on the pipe, just get it to ride level so you don't look like a fool :)

with my truck you have to have cdl just to drive it, a f650 or c6500 won't require one to drive, unless you're pulling a trailer then you're talking class A.
