I'm reading my books and studying for my applicatrs test but these books now have me more confused than ever. Lol here's my senerio. I need to spray a product at 1.8 oz a thousand.my sprayer is 25 gal with 2 floodjet nozzles number 3 an grey spaced 40" apart and 16" off the ground. My affective spray pattern is 5 ft. In 200 ft it takes me 35 seconds( 4mph more r less) each nozzle puts out 44 oz in that time frame. Im confused now at this point. I think this puts me at 21gal an acre. That seems aweful high to me for spraying herbicides pre em and post ems?? Should i b ok or replace my nozzles with smaller ones to get me in the range of say 13 gal an acre? Also could i not just speed up to get that number down lower? Now if I need 1.8oz of product per acre .how do I figure in how much to add to my 25 gal tank and how much area my tank will cover? Also say I add two chemicals , do I still use the suggested rate on the label for both of them or do I have to cut it back to a less rate? Thanks

If it takes 21 gallons to cover and acre then you need to divide your acre sqft by 21 gallons then multiple that number by the oz of Chem per 1k that number should be the amount you need per gallon.

Sounds like you need more experience and less books to understand it better.

My opinion. They give you too much information. If each nozzle puts out 44 ounces per min, then together you have 88 ounces per minute. For for your test range of 1000 sqft, you cover it in 35/60 of a minute.
So you are applying 51 ounces per 1000 sqft.
A 25 gallon tank contains 128 times 25 or 3200 ounces
Dividing by 51 shows your tank covers 63,000 sqft.
Multiply by 1.8 to find the mix rate or 113 ounces per 25 gallon tank.

51 times 43.560 equals 2221 ounces per acre.
Dividing by 128 equals about 17 gallons per acre

Excatly correct with the experience part! I have almost none... So these books will only get me do far. Hopefully past the test but these books r very vague an really do not say much actually about applying or spraying them. That's by I ask u guys that have had the experience. Hopefully help me out a little! When in combining chemical to make a mix( assuming they all work ok together) can I still apply at full rate or does that have to be reduced? Say max rate is 1.8, 1.5. And 2.0..?

Actually, according to your figures you are spraying about 7/10ths of a gallon/K or about 30 gallons/A. In a 25 gal tank you would use 1.5 oz for the proper solution.

My nozzles put out 44oz each in 35 seconds riggleplc, yes the info I believe is to much for example all the info for planes... I mean really why do I need to know that? I'll never b in a plane spraying residential lawns. Lol need more specific test for the job u want to do.

So if each of my nozzle puts out 44oz in 35 seconds that puts me at 80 oz in a min per nozzle riggleplc

1.8 x 43.5 = amount u need over that acre mixed in the 21 gallons.

If your using pendulum use 1/2 of full rate and spray it twice over 6 to 8 weeks..

Same with princely, but do not do a 2nd app.

Just my opinion.

Glyso use at full rate. 2nd app use 24d if needed.

44 oz x's 2 =88oz/K divided by 128oz/gl = .6875 gallon/K x's 44K = 30.25 gls/A. 25gl tank divided by 30 gl/A = .83333 x's 1.8 oz/A = 1.5 oz product/tank.
