My truck has bigger then factory tires & I am actually going faster than what speedo is reading. I'm researching calibration of speedometer & am not gonna go lay under the truck in the rain. Does anyone know if '03 RAM 2500 with Hemi auto transmission, has mechanical or electronic speedometer? Anyone ever calibrate their own speedometer? Advice?

I think you shoud be able to buy a programmer. I did this for a 97 Chevy.

How much is programmer? After researching for couple hours...seen something about programmers. Also taking it to dealer for $40-$100 for calibration. Read that electronic speedo can be calibrated by holding TRIP button down while starting engine then release. Then drive pre measured 2 miles...Blah, blah, blah. Was wondering if this last method will work on my truck as I can use GPS to drive the 2 miles.

This is only forum I belong to, so figured I'd check here. May join dodge forum to see if I can do it myself (the cheapest). Programmer probably costs more than dealer doing it.

There is a product called scangaugeII. Look it up. I have one and love it. It auto corrects your speed based on tires, has accurate mpg, and several other data features. Even pulls check engine codes.
