Is this in Arizona? Is this an overseed of a Bermuda field? 70 in days and 45 at night is a little bit cool for rye. Perhaps you should have started when temps came down to 85. What is soil temperature? What did you use to prepare the soil? Slit seeder? Is the soil heavily trampled? Is it compacted and hard? Silly question--its a football field. You are irrigating it every day, right? What is the quality of the seed--is it too old? Annual rye or perennial? What brand and cultivar? What was germination and when was it last tested?

Now you have a problem. Cool weather. Think about using pre-germinated seed. Essentially you soak it in hot water and bubble air through it for 24 to 48 hours. Try to keep it at 85 degrees. Use a top seed type--Silver Dollar is great. Hope this helps.
