    I have an older Gravely Pro-50 WB with a Briggs 16HP V-Twin OHV Vanguard, Model 303777, Type 1142-A1 3082, Code 96052711.
Immediately below the oil filter it looks like there is an oil pressure sending unit. It has a male spade connector on it, but has never been used. The manual does not show any wiring for it.
I maintain my equipment to the best of my ability and always check the oil level before running the engine, but why not use it since it looks like it's equipped? If I can use it, how would I wire it?

that connector connects to your coil, all the unit does is sense your oil pressure. if the pressure is too low, the ignition is killed so as not to damage your engine. if you are regularly maintaining your oil levels before running the engine you don't need this unit. if you'd really like to use it i can find the wiring harness for you.
