Stopped in at the Cat dealer today to price out a new 226B two. Optioned out fairly well, cab, heat, AC, aux. harness, etc... Best price they would do was $29,800 :dizzy:. That is what my brother paid for the 252B just over a year ago. What happened to the priceing here? I know all about inflation but come on.

All I need is a small wheeled machine since we already have a 252B and a 247B. Checked in to the 216B but ya cant get AC in it.

To much, price diffrent brands New equipment seams to have gone down a bit when it comes to wheel loaders in that size there are going to be lots of options on brands and there all going to be pretty good.

Steel prices, inflation, production costs, delivery. Let me put it this way, we paid $21K for a 216 in 2003 with a suspension seat, auto level, basic machine with no cab. A 226BII is probably worth a few bucks more 4.5 years later, especially with the cab, etc.. However, I feel that machine is probably worth $27K.

I think skidloaders, Wheel and CTL have gone down a bit in the last few years. You have to watch dealerships and price machines, make sure that they know you are shopping around. Don't listen to the salesman, they will always bad mouth competition. Be carefull of special financing, always get cash price.

We priced out a new CTL at the start of last season and the price now has suddenly dropped $6000 and the unit has more options than before. Just make sure the salesman knows you are shopping around, they are very hungry this time of the year.

The money is in the cabs and pilot controls, I think my 247 cab is pressurized like the sexy "C" models, I've yet to see any dust in it yet.
