How do I become certified to mow lawns in my area? Licensing? Taxes?
Thanks,
JB Lawn Services
What area are you in?
----------
Eric@ELM
http://pages.prodigy.net/eric.erickson/index.html
Call your state landscape contractor's board. But I would be surprised if you need to be licensed or certified to mow lawns. Most states don't require anything for lawn care.
In Michigan, you need a license only for certain municipalities. Just a simple form, plus insurance certificate and you're good to go. That's for mowing.
For pesticide applications, you need a personal certification for 2 years. After that you can file to get your business licensed through the Michigan Dept. of Agriculture.
In Louisiana you don'thave to be certified to just mow, but if you do anymore than that you do (hedge, plant color trim trees, ect) this certification come from the state agriculture dept. good luck hop this helps
----------
Dale Robins owner
Southern lawn and Landscape
