Heres the problem ( see pictures below)

The woods pitches down toward the deck, and the foundation pitches down away from the house creating standing water at the base of the stairs and in the sink hole areas in this back yard.

Any water that runs off runs down the hill and washes out into the driveway making a mess.

The problem is that there is no way to pitch this so it runs off naturally. I would like to put in 2 plastic drain boxes in the lowest areas and tie them into the downspout drains, however i'm not sure that they are working correctly, and where they let out....

What would you do in this situation? Im thinking my best bet is to raise the grade near the stairs and flatten it out the best that we can, try and sell them on a small retaining wall w/ stairs down to the driveway, and install atleast one drain box (once i confirm that the existing drains are working....)

I would expand the existing ditch around the perimeter and raise the area around steps.
