I think I saw a post or two about some guys running the Colorado as a mowing rig. I'm thinking about buying one for my personal commuter car. I'm currently using a Corolla for my commute to my regular job but I'm sick of having a little car and not being able to fit much in it. The mileage is awesome in that little car but I teach construction & Trades at a high school about 30 miles away. So having something that can haul tools and some occasional material would be nice. I have a tough time using my 2500 running that far, at least often, because it sucks the gas. I'd also like a 4x4 again for my daily commute. I did some reading and read either great things or terrible things. The one I found is a 2005 ext cab, I5, 4x4. It's immaculate inside and out but it's got 143k miles on it. I guess they use the 460LE trans or something like that and an Isuzu T-150 t-case. Assuming they use a GM bolt rear end as well but not sure. Read good things about the I5 and the auto trans has been around awhile and seems reliable. Hoping the T-case is fairly stoudt as well but couldnt find much info on that. So for those of who have one, what's your thoughts? Good, bad, ugly? I'd like to keep this next vehicle for many years so hitting 250k miles is fairly important. I drove it today and it's tight all around. needs new front brakes but that's no biggie. price is fair for the miles, not a steal, but good nontheless. the backseat is pretty cramped, it's got those little jump seats that flip down but they're forward facing which is nice. hopefully it'll handle a carseat. Not planing on doing much "hauling" or any heavy towing. It'll be towing my little boat though. This will just be my daily driver. So let's hear your opinions.
